Magaji Falalu Zarewa: Nigerian scholar assigned to preach in Holy mosque by Saudi Arabia

The Saudi Arabian government has reportedly chosen Hausa language to be used in preaching in the holy mosque, Masjid An Nabawi, Medina.

Thus, Muslim pilgrims who understand Hausa now have chance to be taught in Hausa during their stay in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Magaji Falalu Zarewa PhD is the Imam assigned by the authority to teach the pilgrims in the holy mosque at King Abdul-Aziz Gate after Magrib prayer.

The Hausa-language study, according to Saudi authorities, will be taking place between Maghrib and Ishai prayers.

Meanwhile, the federal government has declared August 12 and August 13 as public holidays to mark the 2019 Eid-El-Kabir celebrations.

Mohammed Manga, director of press and public relations, Ministry of Interior, in a statement on Tuesday, August 6, in Abuja, said the permanent secretary of the ministry, Georgina Ehuriah, made the declarations.

Ehuriah congratulated the Muslim faithful on the occasion.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that the Saudi Arabian Supreme Court had confirmed that Friday, August 2 is the first day of Zul Hijjah, the 12th Islamic month, as the Dhul-Hijjah crescent moon had been sighted.

An observatory group in Saudi Arabia and various bodies sighted the crescent on Thursday evening, August 1. Following the development, the Day of Arafat, which is the day of Hajj, a day before Eid-al-Adha, the 'festival of sacrifice', is on Saturday, August 10.
