The House of Representatives has directed the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu and the director general of the State Security Services (SSS), Alhaji Yusuf Magaji Bichi, to immediately shut down the complex of the Edo state House Assembly.

The Reps took the decision after careful investigation of crisis in the Edo state House of Assembly.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Governor Obaseki accused the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) chaired by his predecessor, Adams Oshiomhole, of being responsible for the crisis in the state’s House of Assembly.

Obaseki accused the ruling party’s leadership of failure to properly investigate issues in the House of Assembly thus making the crisis linger.

The Edo state governor said this when he received the Senate committee set up to look into squabble in the state’s legislative arm, adding that the crisis would not have degenerated if the leadership of the APC had done what was needed.

Meanwhile, Obaseki's special adviser on political and community matters, Osaro Idah, said his principal has no plan of leaving the APC ahead of the governorship election in the state in 2020.

Idah, in a statement on Tuesday, July 16, dismissed a report by Vanguard claiming Obaseki met with two Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)'s governors to plan an exit strategy from the ruling party.
