Manchester United are closing in on a deal to land £70m-rated Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon in the coming days.

According to Daily Mail report, the Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon are nearing a replacement for the midfielder, who is also linked with Manchester City.

The 24-year-old play-maker Fernandes, is currently valued at £70m, and netted 32 times while creating 18 assists across all competitions last campaign.

He also helped Portugal claim the UEFA Nations League last month.

Red Devils eggheads reportedly held talks with their counterpart from Sporting regarding the deal this week and Italian website Alfredo Pedulla claim the Portuguese outfit have found Fernandes replacement.

According to the report, Sporting are closing in on a four-year deal for 26-year-old Palermo's Aleksandar Trajkovski, who is set to make the switch.

Interestingly, Trajkovski, who represents North Macedonia, can play in variety of roles on the pitch as a playmaker or on the wing and in attack.

The report noted that United are in the market to avoid been caught unawares in case Paul Pogba completes a £150m switch to Real Madrid or Juventus this summer.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been urged by the club's fans to sign Bruno Fernandes after his superb show for Portugal at the Nations League.
