Gowon is the boss of all bosses - Keyamo to OBJ

- Festus Keyamo has responded to ex president’s Obasanjo’s assertion that he is Buhari's boss and has led Nigeria longer than anyone else

- OBJ said he had a right to criticize the president; as that is what democracy is about

- Keyamo, however, stated that General Yakubu Gowon (rtd.) holds the record of the single longest unbroken rein as head-of-state and is the ‘boss of all bosses’

The spokesman for the Buhari Campaign Organisation, Festus Keyamo (SAN) has responded to former president Olusegun Obasanjo’s comment that he would continue to criticise Buhari, and that he (OBJ) is the president's boss and has led Nigeria longer than anyone else.

The former president made the comment in Abeokuta, Ogun state on Tuesday, March 5, while speaking at an event organised to celebrate his 82nd birthday.

Legit.ng: “If it is my brother that is occupying the leadership role and he is not doing what I believe he should do, he must be criticised and that is what democracy is all about.

‘‘I have been in that position longer than any Nigerian will ever be there. So if I say anybody in government in Nigeria is not doing well, let that government prove that it is doing well."

In reaction to OBJ’s comment, however, Keyamo disputed that the former president had been at the helm of the nation’s affairs for the longest period of time.

Taking to his Twitter handle, @fkeyamo, on Wednesday, March 6, the senior advocate stated that General Yakubu Gowon (rtd.) holds the record of the single longest unbroken rein as head-of-state and is the ‘boss of all bosses’.

Recall that Legit.ng previously reported that Festus Keyamo said OBJ invoked a curse on himself by endorsing Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the just-concluded 2019 presidential election.

Keyamo dismissed the endorsement as a complete non-event and questioned Obasanjo for backing a character whom he had previously accused of being corrupt.
