Saraki reacts to postponement, empathises with corps members

- The Senate president, Bukola Saraki, has condemned the recent postponement of election by INEC

- Saraki also empathised with corps members who had to leave their primary places of asssignment

- The Senate president, however, said Nigerians would vote out the present administration for incompetence

The Senate president, Bukola Saraki, has expressed disappointment over the recent postponement of the general election by the Independent Electoral National Commission (INEC).

Saraki took to his twitter page as he showed how the election shift has affected millions of Nigerians, while he condemned the fact that the electoral body had to wait for just few hours to the election to postpone the exercise.

He mentioned how the difficulty the nation’s citizens will have to endure in the face of the development.

The Senate president also brought the issue of the corps members to the fore as he condemned how inconvenient the situation is for them, and all those who left their homes to participate in the polls.

Saraki also lamented the many businesses that were shut down due to the exercise, saying the loss of that action cannot be quantified.

He, however, urged Nigerians not to feel discouraged as a result of the delay, but rather be determined to vote on the new date postponed date of Saturday, February 23.

The president of the Senate also called on the electoral body to avoid a repeat of what happened and work on the issues that could have caused the delay.

He concluded by saying Nigerians are now wiser, and that they would vote out the present administration for being incompetent and disorganized.

Recall that Legit.ng earlier reported that the spokesman of the House of Representatives, Abdulrazak Namdas (APC-Adamawa), on Saturday, February 16, decried the postponement of the general elections.

Namdas described the postponement as “unfortunate.” in an interview with the new media.
