Breaking: Atiku’s monarch woos people for Buhari

- President Muhammadu Buhari's reelection bid got another boost on Thursday, February 7, in Adamawa

- The president was endorsed for second term in office by the Lamido of Adamawa, Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa

- SDP had earlier on the same day, adopted Buhari as a consensus candidate for the election

The Lamido of Adamawa, Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa, on Thursday, February 7, called on Nigerians to rally round the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure that he wins the forthcoming election slated for Saturday, February 16.

Legit.ng reports that the special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, in a statement on Thursday, February 7, said that the Lamido of Adamawa, who is the monarch of Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said that much has been achieved during Buhari's tenure, adding that he needs more time to actualise his dream for a better Nigeria.

The statement read: “I would like to use this opportunity on behalf of my humble self, members of my Council and the entire people of Adamawa to acknowledge with immeasurable thanks and congratulate you on keeping faith with the contract you entered with our people and, indeed, Nigerians. Buhari appeals for understanding on minimum wage.

“The giant strides and inroads you recorded in various fields of our endeavours such as economy, security, and fight against corruption, which still remain the cornerstone of your agenda, would not have been made possible if not for your resilient focus, passion, and love for the country.

“Mr President, there is no doubt that much has been achieved during your present tenure but certainly you need more time to actualize your dream for a better Nigeria.

"This, therefore, calls for all and sundry to rally round you and allow you to get to the next level to enable you consolidate the various laudable programs of your party."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that the Social Democratic Party (SDP), on Thursday, February 7, adopted the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari, as its consensus candidate ahead of February 16 presidential poll.
