The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reacted to the defection of fifteen All Progressives Congress (APC) senators to its fold on Tuesday, July 24.

Legit.ng gathered that Senate president Bukola Saraki on Tuesday, July 24, on the floor of the Senate announced the defection of the senators from the ruling party to the PDP.

In its twitter handle, the spokesperson of the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan, described the defection as a boost for the party to win 2019 general elections.

He said: "Congratulations to leaders and members of the @OfficialPDPNig , we are the majority in the @NGRSenate .

"This victory is for democracy. A step that will save our nation from despotism, fascism and totalitarianism.

"No individual, no matter how powerful or highly placed shall be greater than our country, Nigeria. Welcome to best moments for Nigerians!

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that there was a rowdy session at the National Assembly on Tuesday, July 24, as 15 senators dumped the ruling APC.
