2019: Okotie returns to politics, asks PDP, APC to adopt him as presidential candidate

- The pastor of the Household of God Church International Ministries, Chris Okotie, has officially declared is intention to run for the 2019 presidential election

- Okotie stated he had written the country's two major political parties asking them not to field any presidential candidate, that they should adopt him

- The pastor noted that Nigeria is a crying nation that needs liberation

Chris Okotie, founder of the House of God International Ministry has called on Nigeria’s two major political parties All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic party (PDP) to adopt him as their presidential candidate, The Nation reports.

Legit.ng gathered that Okotie speaking at a press conference in his church during the Sunday service, on July 15, cited the dreams and aspirations if the people having been confined to oblivion, believes that we must act now to defend the Nigerian dream as things have gone to a worse state.

Okotoies said that he has decided to return to politics seeing that Nigeria needs a credible personality, one who is intellectually ready and capable.

The Household of God pastor added that the Nigerian constitution is obsolete and therefore desires to pursue a mandate that will set up a new government of reconciliation. A government that does not need a House of Assembly any more.

He said: “Some days ago, I wrote a letter to the chairmanship of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Adams Oshiomhole and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, asking them not to field any Presidential candidate, that they should adopt me.”

“In sincere consideration I humbly and sincerely ask that the APC adopt me as the presidential candidate. I have extended the same gesture to the APC too. This is the time to demonstrate our love for this country.”

Pastor Chris Okotie noted that this is not of his will but that of the Lord, adding that Nigeria is a crying nation that need liberation.

The solution to Nigeria’s problem does not lies on APC or PDP.

Legit.ng previously reported that Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state called on the members of All Progressives Congress (APC) across the country to allow more people to join the party to come out victorious during the 2019 general elections.

Tambuwal said that moblilisation for more members would help the party have a landslide victory during the elections.

The governor also advised APC members not to lock their doors for new entrants into the party, adding that the party still needs more people to join its fold.
