Brazil have made it to the quarter final of the World Cup after a convincing 2-0 victory against Mexico on Monday, July 2 at the Samara Arena, Samara.
Goals from Neymar and Firmino in the second half secured qualification for the Selecao as Mexico crashed out.
But it was the Mexicans who started the game the better side. A dangerous ball played in Brazil's box forced Alisson to punch away but the rebound drops kindly for Lozano whose shot was blocked.
However, after the 30-minute mark, it was all Brazil as Neymar dribbled pass two Mexicans before forcing a save from Ochoa. Few seconds later, Coutinho fired wide.
But Brazil finally got their goal in the second half as Neymar started a move and finished off from close range after a fine assist from Willian.
The five-time winner doubled their lead in the 88th minute after Neymar found Firmino in the box who scored from close range. The game ended 2-0 in favour of Brazil and the south Americans qualify for the quarter final.
