Premier League campaigners Chelsea have reportedly joined the race to sign Russian side World Cup star Aleksandr Golovin.

The 22-year-old scored one of the goals that powered the host country to a 5-0 win over Saudi Arabia in their opening Group A encounter at the Luzhniki Stadium on Thursday, June 14.

But are likely to also face stiff competition from Serie A giants Juventus, who are also interested in signing him.

Italian news outlet Calciomercato reveals that the Italian League champions have already established contacts with CSKA about striking a deal for the player who scored a brilliant free-kick in Russia's 5-0 win to get the tournament started.

Juve are said to have made an initial £15 million bid, and that the player has already expressed an interest in the move.

On the other hand, CSKA will not allow their player go unless his suitors meet their £22 million target, as they player is regarded as one of the most influential in their squad.

They are are also plotting to include a sell-on clause in any deal to ensure they are not short-changed if Golovin's value increases in the future.

According to the report by UK Sun, Chelsea Russian owner Roman Abramovich is ready to pay the sum of £15 million in January to lure his fellow countryman to Stamford Bridge.

Golovin, 21, is looking to take the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia by storm, and the Blues want to wrap up a deal for the player as soon as possible.
