The first son of the late human rights activist and lawyer, Gani Fawehinmi, on Tuesday, June 12, commended President Muhammadu Buhari for honouring his father and two others.
Mohammed Fawehinmi described President Buhari as the "first sensitive and reasonable head of state (sic) in the country.”
Mohammed appreciated the president for listening to the yearnings of Nigerians on the issues surrounding the annulment of the June 12 election.

He said the president acted accordingly by accepting June 12 as the “foundation of the nation’s democracy.”
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a former head of state, Ibrahim Babangida, and ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo have apologised for not attending the investiture of the recent awardees at the Presidential Villa.
Although Obasanjo and Babangida did not make available reasons for their absence, they tendered their apologies for failing to attend the grand.

The national honours were given to the deceased post-humously and received by the families of Moshood Abiola and Fawehinmi.
