Just in: 8 people reportedly killed in another Kaduna attack

- Gunmen have reportedly killed 8 people in Chikun local government area of Kaduna state

- The gunmen are suspected to be cattle rustlers

- Kurega village is a border community with Birnin Gwari local government area

Eight people have reportedly lost their lives and several others injured when armed bandits suspected to be cattle rustlers attacked in Chikun local government area of Kaduna state.

New Telegraph reports that the state police command confirmed the incident which happened at Kurega village, a border community with Birnin Gwari local government area.

The police also claimed to be on the trail of the attackers with a view to arresting them.

The gunmen were said to have invaded the village at about 2pm on Tuesday, May 29.

The news outlet reported further that residents claimed the gunmen attempted to rustle cows belonging to some herders in the community but when the people tried to resist them, the gunmen started shooting at the villagers.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that barely 24 hours after herdsmen attacked Sacred Heart Minor Seminary in Jalingo, a couple was killed by unknown gunmen at their residence in Wukari local government area of Taraba state.

The criminals who struck on Tuesday, May 29, however, spared the couple's two-year-old baby.
