- A fan even went as far as trying to kiss Ronaldo

Real Madrid star forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, was approached by a number of pitch invaders during Portugal's friendly defeat to Netherlands.

The two sides faced off in Geneva as Portugal continued stepping up their preparations for the World Cup.

Ronaldo late brace against Egypt on Friday was enough to secure victory for Portugal but it didn't go as well against the Dutch, who were 3-0 up at the break.

Shortly after the hour mark, CR7 was approached by a pitch invader who tried to kiss the Portuguese superstar and take a photograph with him.

After the incident it was not long as another supporter, wearing a Real Madrid shirt, then entered the field of play and hugged Ronaldo.

He posed for a photograph as an ally held the camera before security intervened.

They were taken off the pitch but another fan invaded as Ronaldo was substituted moments later.

As the 33-year-old made his way off, a supporter ran across the pitch to the touchline and tried to approach Ronaldo before being restrained by the stewards.

The Real Madrid leading goal scorer had gone into the clash in stunning form, scoring in nine consecutive games for club and country.

But that run ended as goals from Memphis Depay, Ryan Babel and Dutch skipper Virgil van Dijk put the Dutch in control.
