Governor Ambode approves 30% bonus for civil servants, aides

In the generous spirit of yuletide, Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has approved 30% bonus to political office holders, public/civil servants in the state to boost their morale this season.
Legit.ng gathered that the approval was signed by the State Head of Service (H.O.S.), Folasade Adesoye in a circular with Ref: No: CIR/HOS/17/Vol 1/087.

The circular, issued on Monday, December, 4 came with the title '2017 End of the Year bonus for Public/Civil Servants'. Adesoye stated that the offer was the governor’s appreciation and incentive to workers and political appointees for their effort to keep Lagos a center of excellence.
“His Excellency, Akinwunmi Ambode, the governor of Lagos state has noted, with appreciation and gratitude, the dedication and commitment of all public/civil servants in Lagos State.
“In consequence, His Excellency, the governor has graciously approved the payment of 30 per cent of basic salary to all political appointees, public and civil servants in the month of December 2017,” Adesoye explained.

According to Tribune, she further mentioned that in return, public and civil servants in the state public service should work harder so as to be worthy of more of such laudable gestures from Lagos state government.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that Lagos state governor Akinwunmi Ambode has inaugurated 798 members of the Nigeria Inter-Religious Council (NIREC).
The new members, seven Muslims and seven Christians each, are appointed for the 20 local governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDA) in Lagos, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
