- President Muhammadu Buhari congratulates D' Tigress on their victory

- The president issued a statement through his spokesperson Femi Adesina

- President Buhari assures the team of continued support from the government

President Buhari has offered his congratulations to the National Female Basketball side D' Tigress on winning the 2017 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket tournament in Mali.

In doing so the team qualified for the 2018 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup in Spain next year.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity Femi Adesina expressed the President's goodwill to the country's elite female basketball team in a press release posted on his Facebook page

D’Tigress defeated Senegal 65-48 in the final of the 2017 FIBA Women Afrobasket tournament in Mali.
