Lagos recently experienced flood in some parts of the state and this has attracted different negative criticism about the poor state of drainage infrastructure in the Nigeria's commercial city.
However, despite argument about the state of Lagos drainage system, investigations revealed that flood of this nature is not peculiar to Lagos alone.
Legit.ng sighted some trending pictures of areas in the UK affected by flood after heavy rain on social media recently.

A social media commentator, Jack Obinyan-Buhari on his Facebook page argued that: "If it rains indiscriminately no amount of drainage and technology will stop flooding."
Reacting to some photos of flooding in the UK, he said that: "This is London and outskirts...The same happens to any other part of Europe, including "Almighty" Germany.
"This is NOT to excuse lack of drainage, lack of town planning and human excesses against the environment such as waste management. IF everything was in place like in Europe, it will not prevent flooding if it rains indiscriminately. Man can never be more than God," he said.

The photos below show some areas of the UK after indiscriminate rainfall that caused flooding in some areas of the country.
Legit.ng however could not confirm when the flood occurred and in which part of the country.
Legit.ng had reported that as flood continues to ravage Lekki area of Lagos state, Nigerians have been asked to stop linking the disaster to the well being of residents of the area.
Some Nigerians have alleged that properties in the ravaged area are built from proceeds of crime.
In a reaction to the allegation, some Nigerians have come on social media to counter such views, insisting that not all properties owners in the area got their money from proceeds of crime.
