ProPublica’s records confirmed that Charlie Kirk, who served as President and CEO of Turning Point USA until his death in 2025, earned a salary of $285,929 in the fiscal year ending June 2024.
In addition to his base compensation, Kirk received $99,840 in related benefits and $4,724 in other compensation, bringing his total package to just under $390,000.
Kirk’s earnings placed him among the top compensated executives within the organisation, though not the highest. Other senior figures, such as Manager John McGovern, received $420,709 in salary alone, while Daniel Flood earned $269,209.
Turning Point USA revenue and spending in 2024
The financial disclosures showed that Turning Point USA raised $84,988,862 in total revenue during the 2024 fiscal year, with 99.2% of that amount coming from contributions. The organisation spent $80,995,175, leaving a net income of just under $4 million.
Executive compensation accounted for $443,241 of the total expenses, while other salaries and wages made up over $18.6 million, representing 23.1% of the organisation’s spending. The filings also noted expenditures on professional fundraising fees, travel, and conflict-of-interest transactions involving key employees.
Financial transparency and public scrutiny
Turning Point USA’s financial growth has mirrored its rising influence in conservative political circles, particularly among young voters.
However, the organisation has faced scrutiny over its spending practices and executive compensation, especially in light of Kirk’s prominent role and public profile.
The 2024 filings provided a rare glimpse into the internal financial workings of the non-profit, which has long positioned itself as a grassroots movement advocating for free markets and limited government.
