Call for Papers: Special Issue on Financial Reporting and Corporate Governance in Africa

The Editorial Board of the Journal of Financial Reporting and Corporate Governance, published by the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRC), has announced a Special Issue titled “Reimagining Financial Reporting and Corporate Governance for Sustainable Economic Transformation in Africa.”

In a statement, the Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Suleiman Aruwa, explained that the Special Issue aims to advance scholarly debate, guide policy and professional practice. It will explore themes such as financial reporting, corporate governance, auditing, assurance, valuation, sustainability reporting, ethics, regulatory innovation, digital transformation, and public sector accountability.

Contributions offering interdisciplinary insights, empirical evidence, innovative methods, comparative studies, and practical policy recommendations are strongly encouraged.

Types of Submissions

The journal welcomes original research articles, policy and regulatory papers, review and conceptual papers, technical and professional practice papers, case studies and expert commentaries.

This Special Issue also seeks to position the journal at the forefront of contemporary developments in financial reporting and corporate governance. It will serve as a platform for academics, regulators, policymakers, standard setters, professional accountancy organisations, development partners, and industry practitioners to contribute to shaping transparent, accountable, and sustainable governance in Africa and beyond.

Best Paper Award

Outstanding papers will be considered for the Best Paper Award and will receive recognition from the Editorial Board. Selected works may also be featured in editorial highlights and shared through the FRC’s professional knowledge platforms.
