From Oil to Energy and Finance

He initially made his fortune in the oil industry with Zenon Petroleum and Gas Ltd and later acquired a controlling stake in Forte Oil PLC.

In 2019, he sold Forte Oil to focus on power generation, leading Geregu Power Plc as its executive chairman.

Under his leadership, Geregu Power became the first power generation company listed on the Nigerian Exchange, with its stock price increasing significantly since its listing.

Otedola also holds a significant stake in FBN Holdings Plc, Nigeria's oldest bank, where he became the largest shareholder with a 13.16% stake.
