Dr. Chris Nwabueze Ngige, born on August 8, 1952, in Alor, Anambra state, is a Nigerian politician and medical doctor.

He graduated from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, in 1979 and served in various medical roles, retiring in 1998 as a Deputy Director in the Federal Ministry of Health.

Ngige entered politics in 1999, becoming a founding member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and holding leadership positions in the Southeast region.

In 2003, he was elected governor of Anambra state under the PDP, though his tenure was marked by controversy and legal challenges.

He later joined the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and served as Senator for Anambra Central from 2011 to 2015.

From 2015 to 2023, Ngige served as Nigeria's Minister of Labour and Employment under President Muhammadu Buhari's administration.

He is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and is married to Dr. Evelyn Ngige, a consultant paediatrician; they have three children.
