In a viral post on IG, the 38-year-old cried out that fans are tired of the excuses for not winning the league. He said:

"It's going to be incredibly hard for Chelsea to win the Premier League with the kind of goalkeeper we have right now.
"We can't wait, we want to win the Premier League now, we want to win yesterday not even now.

"Last season, we wanted to win; this season, we have to win. We cannot wait to get Maignan for next season and then start saying, "Now we have got a goalkeeper," and go to win the league.
"Every season is a season where we have to start thinking of winning the league. I thought getting a top goalkeeper that they are going to look back every time and say you know what, we've got a goalkeeper."

Chelsea failed to land former Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma before Manchester City secured the Italian, according to AllNigeria.

ECOHSAT Dean of Student Affairs agrees with Mikel Obi

The Dean of Student Affairs, Emirates College of Health Sciences and Technology (ECOHSAT), Kano State, AbdulKabir Suleiman, agreed with Super Eagles legend that Chelsea cannot lift the 2025/26 EPL trophy.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Legit.ng, Suleiman said the decisions of the coach have been misfiring this season. The former NUGA football star said:

"Frankly speaking I agree with Mikel on this point. Some might say it's too early to make such conclusions but with top contenders like pool, Arsenal and Manchester City making the most of their gameweek games, Chelsea aren't a match for them.
"Secondly, when you compare the depth of players quality with the three mentioned clubs above, our depth can only win us CARABAO or FA cup in my opinion, don't even mention European trophy.
