Osimhen limped off injured in the 35th minute of the Super Eagles' 1-0 win over Rwanda and missed the trip to Bloemfontein, where they played a 1-1 draw against South Africa.
The striker flew to Turkey, where he has been under the supervision of the club's medical department after undergoing an assessment to determine the extent of the injury.
Okan Buruk provides latest update on Osimhen
As noted by CNN Turk, Galatasaray maintained their perfect start to the season with their fifth win in as many games, 2-0 against Eyupspor, thanks to goals from Mauro Icardi and Yunus Akgun.
Okan Buruk was quizzed about Osimhen’s condition after the win, and he confirmed that he will undergo further assessment to determine if he can play.
“Osimhen's condition will be determined within a few days,” Okan Buruk said at his post-match conference as quoted by GS TV.
“We're hopeful he'll play. We think he will, but of course, he's in pain. We'll see if he can tolerate that pain and play with it. We have a few days.”
The Lions’ next match is the first game of the UEFA Champions League group stage against Eintracht Frankfurt, and the striker is reportedly targeting a return to action.
Buruk is also keen to have him back for the match to ease the burden on Mauro Icardi, who is easing into action after a long spell out with an ACL injury.

The team's struggles in attack were also evident with the absence of the Super Eagles forward, as Icardi lacked help in the frontline, which the Nigerian provided.
He stands out over the Argentine forward for being able to lead the line as a sole striker, which he did for most of last season after Icardi's injury.
Galatasaray will hope that the striker returns on time and hits form for their UEFA Champions League campaign, during which they need a deep run for financial reasons.
The Turkish champions invested €75 million to sign Osimhen and pay him an annual salary of €21mil, and will need strong performance in the UCL to make up.
