Onana shoves fan after Cameroon loss

Cape Verdians invaded the pitch in celebration after the final whistle, and the Cameroonian players had to walk amidst them to the dressing room.

As seen in a video recirculated on X by Livescore, a fan attempted to get a selfie from Andre Onana, who, in turn, shoved him out of frustration as he walked off the pitch.

Fans on social media surprisingly did not pile on the goalkeeper, but instead understood his plight, claiming that with what he is going through, he is only human to react.

“He's human, after what has happened to him in the last one year or so, you should understand why he can't help some of these things.”

@Mogba11 wrote:

“They just lost an opportunity to end the international break in 1st in their group while he got clowned everywhere. As much as I don’t like Onana, that's a normal human reaction. Hope he manages to turn things around.”

Onana to join Trabzonspor

Onana had fallen out of the pecking order at Manchester United under Ruben Amorim and only featured in the League Cup loss to Grimsby Town.

The Red Devils signed Belgian U21 international Senne Lammens, which increased competition with Tom Heaton and Altay Bayindir also at the club.

As noted by The Guardian, the former Ajax goalkeeper will fly to Trabzon on Thursday to complete the deal and could make his debut against Fenerbahce on Sunday.
