- The Super Eagles face a tough 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against South Africa in Bloemfontein on Tuesday, September 9
- Anything short of victory for Nigeria could see Bafana Bafana pick the automatic ticket to the Mundial, which starts next summer
- Obinna Nsofor has disclosed how the Super Eagles could do the magic when they face the table toppers in the massive fixture
A former Inter Milan striker, Obinna Nsofor, has detailed how Nigeria can defeat South Africa to remain in contention for the 2026 FIFA World Cup ticket.
The Super Eagles travel to Bloemfontein, where they will take on Bafana Bafana in a must-win fixture slated for Tuesday, September 9.
It comes barely 72 hours after the three-time African champions managed a 1-0 victory over a resolute Rwandan side at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

Victor Osimhen suffered a knock midway through the first half and was eventually taken off in the 35th minute, leaving Nigerian fans worried.
Panathinaikos forward Cyriel Dessers came on as a substitute, and the former Rangers of Scotland striker was impressive.
However, it was Tolu Arokodare, who came off the bench to get the winning goal in the 50th minute, as Nigeria eventually broke the deadlock, per Foot Africa.
And that was how it ended as Nigeria claimed all three points to move to third on the log with 10 points.
South Africa lead the group with 16 points, while the Benin Republic are second with 11 points, with two more matches to go.
Meanwhile, Osimhen woke up feeling discomfort due to the injury, and the team's doctor advised that he should not travel with the team for the all-important clash in South Africa. The statement reads:
"Team doctor confirmed Victor Osimhen’s injury is a bruise on his chin. He woke up this morning with discomfort and will not be travelling with the squad to South Africa for Tuesday’s game."
The Super Eagles need a win against South Africa on Tuesday, and Nsofor believes the combination of Arokodare and Dessers can provide the goals.
The former West Ham star said via Soccernet:
"It is a shame Osimhen will not be available for the South Africa and Nigeria game because he is Nigeria’s best player and would have been a huge weapon for the Super Eagles.
"He is a player who has proven to be a team player, and in big games like this, his presence alone could intimidate opponents.
"However, I believe that we have talented players in the team like Tolu (Arokodare) and Dessers that can make an impact to help the team win the match in South Africa."
