Toluwalase Emmanuel Arokodare has officially become the latest Premier League star after sealing a permanent move to Wolverhampton Wanderers from Belgian club Genk.

The 23-year-old Super Eagles striker signed a four-year deal at Molineux in a £24m transfer that places big expectations on his shoulders.

Arokodare’s journey to the Premier League

Arokodare’s journey to the Premier League is one full of determination and hunger to succeed at the biggest stage.

The Super Eagles striker began his professional career with Valmiera in 2019, where he quickly made a name for himself by scoring 22 goals in just 34 appearances, BBC reports.

His performances earned him a loan move to FC Köln in the Bundesliga, followed by two years at French side Amiens, where he netted 21 goals.

In 2023, Arokodare made the switch to Genk in Belgium, and across 113 appearances, he scored 41 goals, establishing himself as one of the league’s best strikers.

His rise to prominence also caught the eye of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), earning him a Super Eagles call-up, where he has already scored once in four appearances.

Wolves have now taken the decisive step of bringing the Nigerian forward to England as their top striker.

During his unveiling by Wolves, Arokodare shared a lighter moment with fans when asked how to pronounce his full name, Toluwalase Arokodare.

With a smile, the Nigerian forward broke down the pronunciation for the Wolves faithful and added that those who find it difficult can simply call him “Tolu.”

The video, shared on Wolves’ official social media platforms, quickly went viral, with fans warmly welcoming their new striker and pledging to learn how to say his name correctly.

This gesture highlighted Arokodare’s charisma and the cultural pride he brings with him to England.

Arokodare joins a growing list of Nigerian stars in the Premier League, with Samuel Chukwueze moving to Fulham and Chrisantus Uche sealing a switch to Crystal Palace on deadline day, Punch reports.

His arrival adds to the Super Eagles’ strong presence in Europe’s most-watched league, and expectations are high that he can deliver the goals Wolves desperately need.
