The European transfer market closes on Monday, September 1, 2025, and it opens an avenue for some Super Eagles stars to secure moves away from their current clubs.

Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi, amongst others, have changed clubs this summer, joining Turkish Super League giants Galatasaray and Besiktas respectively.

The biggest discussion of the summer around a Nigerian player has been about Lookman, whose proposed move away from Atalanta has gone quiet.

1. Ademola Lookman

Lookman has reportedly resumed individual training at Zingonia after weeks of absence while trying to force a move away from Bergamo. Inter Milan have shifted focus to other clubs. However, the reigning African Footballer of the Year still has the opportunity of joining a new club amid interest from the Premier League.

2. Victor Boniface

Boniface's proposed move to AC Milan collapsed after the Italian Serie A club raised concerns over his injury history, in which he has suffered two ACL injuries. However, Bayer Leverkusen are not closing the door on his departure, though clubs will be wary of signing him.

3. Cyriel Dessers

According to Herald Scotland, last season's Scottish Premiership Golden Boot winner Dessers admits he is happy at Rangers because he wants stability, but could be open to leaving if a crazy offer arrives. He currently has interest from Hellas Verona and Panathinaikos.

4. Samuel Chukwueze

Chukwueze joined AC Milan from Villarreal in 2023 but has failed to settle in at the club. He is deemed surplus to requirements by new head coach Massimiliano Allegri and is expected to leave. According to Calcio Mercato, Fulham have proposed a €25 million fee to sign him.

5. Tolu Arokodare

Arokodare won the Golden Boot in the Belgian league last season and was expected to move to a bigger club. Napoli showed interest in him after Romelu Lukaku suffered a long-term injury, but a move has yet to materialise. He is one to watch in the final days of the window.

6. Kelechi Iheanacho

Iheanacho joined Sevilla as a free agent in the summer of 2024 and struggled to adapt. He spent the second half of last season on loan at EFL Championship side Middlesbrough. He is expected to leave Sevilla permanently or secure another loan this summer.

7. Umar Sadiq

Sadiq spent the second half of last season on loan at Valencia. Real Sociedad are open to selling him if they receive a good offer. Premier League side Fulham and Spanish club Girona have all approached him as the transfer window approaches the final day.

Ivan Juric speaks about Lookman

Legit.ng reported that Atalanta manager spoke about Lookman amid the ongoing transfer saga between the Super Eagles forward and the Italian club.

Ivan Juric is reportedly open to integrating the former Premier League star, but the player has his mind set on leaving Gewiss Stadium this summer.
