As noted by The Guardian, Arsenal won at Old Trafford for the first time in 16 years, which makes the 1-0 result even more satisfying for the fans despite their team's performance.

However, the fans, the players and the manager admitted that there must be massive improvement if they want to get better than previous seasons and win the league.

Head coach Mikel Arteta drew some positives from the match and was conscious of the areas where his team must improve before their next match and over the course of the season.

“I look at the players' faces, and they want much more. We know that we are much better than certain moments we played,” he said as quoted by Mirror UK.
“I think before I came here, it was 18 or 20 years since we won at Old Trafford, but now we come here and win many times and are still unsatisfied.

He acknowledged the speed and threat Manchester United’s front three posed, and warned his team that they would face many more teams like that.

Arsenal finished second behind Manchester City twice and Liverpool in the last three seasons, and Arteta feels it could drive his team to success this year.

“Well, that gives you certainly momentum and confidence - two very important things," he added.
“We know what our standards are in certain aspects, which today we weren't, being fair, we can still come away and find a way to win the game.”

The Spanish manager noted that the resilience his team showed to walk away with the three points is something they will need on other bad days to be able to win the league, which is their target this season.

“The team has to find that resilience throughout the season for ten months in different contexts to be able to do that. Of course, we have to improve a lot of things, and that will happen very soon,” he concluded.

Arsenal face Leeds United next at the Emirates Stadium, before travelling to Anfield to face Liverpool, underlining how fast they must improve so as to pick up crucial points early.
