United will be desperate to secure a favourable result during the Thursday night, March 18, second leg clash with a place in the quarter-finals of the European competition at stake.
The Red Devils surrendered a 1-0 lead in the reverse tie played on Thursday night, March 11, at Old Trafford, allowing Simon Kjaer to score at the death as the match ended 1-1.
Therefore, Solskjaer will be keen to parade a strong side during the second leg to get the job done in Italy.
The Norwegian already has a number of key players back in the squad, including Paul Pogba, David de Gea, and Donny van de Beek.
However, despite the availability of the trio, he is unlikely to make many changes in the team that drew against Milan last week.
Dean Henderson could possibly keep his place between the sticks, with Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka providing cover in defence.
Fred and Scott McTominay are expected to partner in the middle of the park alongside Bruno Fernandes who is an obvious starter.
The attack-line, which is largely depleted as Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial are unavailable could see youngster Amad Diallo handed a start on the flanks.
Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood are all in line to lead the goal hunt, with the former playing as the centre-forward.
Possible Man United starting XI vs AC Milan:
Goalkeeper: Dean Henderson
Defenders: Shaw, Maguire, Lindelof, Wan-Bissaka
Midfielders: Fred, McTominay, Fernandes
Forwards: Greenwood, Rashford, Diallo
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Dutchman Van de Beek could be leaving Premier League club Manchester United at the end of the season despite moving to Old Trafford last season.
He moved to England from Ajax for £35million last summer but has managed to start just two games this season in the topflight.
The 23-year-old is left stunned by limited action and he is worried that he does not have a future at the club.
