There is a plot to get Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sacked as Manchester United manager, according to former defender Phil Neville.

The former United and Everton manager admitted that the Red Devils' exit from the Champions is disappointing but not a disaster.

Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba's second-half goals were not enough to cancel out RB Leipzig's 3-0 first-half lead as United dropped into the Europa League spot.

Neville told BBC Radio 5 Live:

"There's an awful narrative where the minute United lose a game it seems like a disaster.
"It's not a disaster tonight, but it's disappointing. United wanted to be in the last 16 but there are Manchester United teams in the past with better managers than Ole Gunnar Solskjaer - like Sir Alex Ferguson - which have gone out at this stage."

The former England's women's national team coach went on to claim the narrative from inside the doors at Old Trafford is "far different" from that of outside the club.

"If United beat City at old Traffird - and Solskjaer's teams tend to do well in big games.
"They had a poor first 30 minutes, they got punished in a group which was really, really difficult and they're out of the competition.
"The narrative from inside the club is far, far different to that outside the club, where it seems there's a total witch-hunt to get this boy out of the job."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has cautioned super-agent Mino Raiola over his latest comments that his client, Paul Pogba’s time at the club is over.

United crashed out of the Champions League following a 3-2 loss to RB Leipzig and barely hours to the encounter, Raiola had suggested that Pogba needs to leave the club.

The Frenchman was named on the bench for the cracker and came on to inspire the Red Devils who were three goals down to come close at 3-2.
