Sandro Begins Recovery In Brazil

Tottenham midfielder Sandro is being allowed to work his way back to full fitness in his homeland with the medical staff of Internacional.

The Brazilian suffered a season-ending knee injury in the 0-0 Premier League draw with Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road in January.

He underwent surgery to repair the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and is now recuperating in South America with his former club.

Sandro, who moved to White Hart Lane in an £8million deal with Internacional three years ago, believes the time spent in the southern hemisphere will aid his recovery.

He told Globo Esporte: "It will help me a lot being in an environment I know. Tottenham know Internacional's staff and how they treat the players, so that helped them release me."
