As reported by The Nation, Wike stated this while speaking on Monday, September 22, 2025, at the flag-off of the construction of Access Roads ILS 02 and ILS 03 (Timipre Sylva Street) in Mabushi District, Abuja.
The minister declared that he remains committed to serving both residents of the FCT and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
“So if you like, organise yourself, cry from morning till night, call me whatever name you want, put my name on the internet, say anything you want to say - foul.”
Wike said he had developed a resistance to others' claims and stated that no underhanded attempts could sway him.
“I am not one of those who will think that blackmail will change me. My skin is so thick, so strong. As a politician, you should know that these are things you will see, so why are you worried? No serial politician will think that people will not say something against them. Then go and sleep, go and rest."
Wike speaks as Tinubu restores Fubara
Recall that Wike had reacted to the restoration of the democratically elected officials in Rivers State.
The state governor and all legislators were suspended by the president of the federation six months ago.
At the time, President Tinubu appointed a sole administrator to pilot the affairs of the state in the absence of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

Analyst describes Wike as a strong political force
A political analyst, Tobi Olukoya, has described the FCT minister as a force in Nigeria’s political scene.
"I personally like Wike's strength and his will to always stand for what he believes in," the analyst told Legit.ng.
"As we all know, perfection does not exist on this side of heaven, and he has his own flaws," he added.
The analyst explained that Wike’s influence is rooted in his determination:
"But then, Wike is a real force, especially in our current political dispensation. He was able to wield so much power because of his ability to always stand for what he believes in per time."
According to him, Wike’s support is more of an asset than a liability:
"Personally, I believe Wike standing with anyone will be an advantage rather than a disadvantage."
Olukoya further described Wike as a reformer with visible achievements:
"He is also a reformer, at least we can see what he did in Rivers State and what he is also doing in the F.C.T."
On Wike’s work ethic, he added:
"Wike is someone that, once you give him the job, you can go to sleep."
