Ajah, Lagos state - Ahead of the 2027 election, Prophet Elijah Bamidele of the Christ House of Prayer and Deliverance Ministry in Lagos warned that he foresees a major crisis brewing within the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Prophet Bamidele, in a video shared recently on his official Facebook page, said APC youths may revolt against the ruling party.

He said:
“I saw APC fighting APC. The people who are supposed to fight for APC are the ones fighting APC. I begin to ask in the spirit, ‘what is happening?’ And I heard the voice of a youth saying ‘you think you can use and dump us the way you used us before?’ This thing I’m saying now is going to happen.

“I saw APC fighting APC; I saw APC destroying APC; I saw APC working against APC. And these are the youths.”
“Mr President, the youths you promised and you have not fulfilled the promise, please go back to them and fulfil the promise. I beg of you President Bola Tinubu, look into the APC, look into the youths, look into the promises you made to them.”

'APC testing ground for 2027'
Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the APC of using the security agencies to clamp down on its members in different areas during the recent by-elections to fill 16 vacant state and national assembly seats in some states across the country.
PDP's national spokesperson, Debo Ologunagba, at an interactive session with journalists on Tuesday, August 19, in Abuja, said what the APC did was to test the ground for the 2027 election.

He said the ruling party would be disappointed because Nigerians would step up to them in the next general elections.
He noted that the APC was always panicky whenever it perceived that PDP leaders were working together and would want to cause disaffection so that the opposition party would not talk about the failures of the federal government.
The PDP spokesman, who said the opposition party was aware of the alleged arrogance of the APC over the recent by-elections, accused the ruling party of allegedly weaponising poverty in the country.
Ologunagba said:
“We don’t call that an election. And we’ve heard about the arrogance of the APC. What they have done with those elections is to test the ground for 2007, but I have bad news for APC.
“What happened in those by-elections, will not happen in 2007. Why? Nigerian people are wiser. They are hurting. What will be on the ballot in 2007 will be the hunger, the uncertainty and the insecurity that no money can purchase."

'APC solid ahead of 2027 election'
For Dr Sulaimon Adigun Muse, a senior lecturer in the department of political science education, Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), he explained that the APC already has its grip on multiple states.
Muse, the president of the Global Academy of Political Entrepreneurship and Leadership (GAPEL), told Legit.ng:
“If you look at the arrangement of any political party, you look at what political parties are doing themselves, who are the visible actors, and you want to look at the cohesion in the political party, for now the APC seems to be enjoying that internal political cohesion. Their internal democracy looks okay, at least at the federal level. The same may not be said at the various state governments. But at the federal level, you can see that they have a stable executive.
"Recently, there was a baton exchange from one chairmanship of the party to another without any issue being raised, without any conflict or crisis. That tells you that the party structure is strong to some extent. And when the party’s structure is strong, it would give those that are contesting on the platform of such a political party a leverage over others. Like Chinua Achebe said: 'when the centre cannot hold, things will fall apart'.”
