El-Rufai makes three points on APC attack

In a three-point response to the APC, El-Rufai described Tinubu's government as the one "built on slogans rather than solutions". He faulted the claim by APC spokesperson, Felix Morka, that the economy under Tinubu was rebounding. He faulted the price of rice, fuel and the student loan scheme.

Also, the former governor bragged that he remained the voice that the APC feared the most. He maintained that the ruling party knows "he speaks from a place of experience, insight, and courage."

Lastly, the former governor stressed that his criticism of Tinubu's government is not treason, as claimed by Morka in his response to his earlier criticism. He explained that if the APC spokesperson has the "basic political ethics, he would know that critique is not treason, and opposition is not sabotage.

Pointing out the sins of Tinubu's administration, El-Rufai maintained that his claims were based on "numbers not noise". He alleged that Nigeria's debt is now over ₦121 trillion and inflation is at 40 per cent. He said unemployment is at 53 per cent, while "kidnapping, banditry, and insurgency" still hunt the north and south of the country.

APC replies to El-Rufai's criticism

El-Rufai's tweet was a response to APC's bragging that Nigerians will vote for President Tinubu in the 2027 general election, adding that his administration has made outstanding achievements. The APC said the first term of President Tinubu was full of remarkable experiences in the history of the country.

Morka made the claim while defending the government over the recent criticism from El-Rufai during his visit to Sokoto and tagged the former governor as a threat to the peace and unity of the country.

The former governor is a prominent member of the emerging alliance and was on a mission to gather support for the African Democratic Party (ADC). He described his action as a patriotic one to rescue Nigeria from the grip of 'nepotism' and 'incompetence'.

During his visit to Sokoto, the former governor attended two important events meant to sensitise the people and political stakeholders working to achieve the agenda of sacking President Tinubu and the APC in the next general election.
