PDP Confirms Dismissal of 15 Erring Members in Kebbi State

Abuja- On Monday, December 6, Nigeria's main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) affirmed the expulsion of fifteen members in Kebbi state by the Kebbi state chapter of the party.

The Punch reports that the National Working Committee confirmed this development.

The party made this disclosure in a statement by its national publicity secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, on Monday, in Abuja.

The Party's position

The party said that the expulsion was sequel to the decision of the state chapter and ratification by the NWC in line with the provision of the PDP Constitution (2017 as amended).

It urged all PDP members in Kebbi state to remain calm, united and focused, and not allow any agents of destabilisation to derail the party in the collective quest to rescue the state as well as the nation.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu, has come under attack by the Buhari Media Organisation for comparing President Muhammadu Buhari's administration with past governments of Nigeria.

The chairman of the organisation, Niyi Akinsiju and BMOO's secretary, Cassidy Madueke, said it is criminal for Ayu who is academic to manipulate existing records for partisan politics.

The duo in a statement seen by Legit.ng said Ayu's comment that Nigeria is yet to record any form of progress since President Muhammadu Buhari assumed office in 2015 is false and should be disregarded.

In another report, PDP chieftain, Ahmadu Fintiri, had said that he would ensure he teaches politicians in other parties lessons.

Fintiri who is the governor of Adamawa state said this while securing the endorsement of the councillors forum in the state.

He also said that the APC had failed woefully in the state and can never match the achievements of the PDP in Adamawa.
