The All Progressives Congress (APC) Anambra governorship candidate, Senator Andy Uba, says there is no way he could have lost wards where the chairmen of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) defected to the APC.

Daily Trust reports that Uba while addressing party members on Saturday, November 13, questioned the credibility of the exercise.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the 6 November governorship election in Anambra State, Andy Uba, has rejected the result of the election.

He insisted that it was impossible for him to have lost when the APGA ward chairmen defected to APC a week to the gubernatorial election.

Uba pointed out that the election was full of irregularities and he would challenge its outcome in court.

While expressing confidence that APC will retrieve its mandate, the governorship candidate urged party members not to be discouraged by what happened, adding it was a temporary set back.

Recall that the Senator Andy Uba Campaign Organisation rejected the result of the just-concluded Anambra state governorship election as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The campaign organisation described the outcome of the election as a charade, adding that it did not reflect the wishes of the people of the state.

In a statement signed in Abuja on behalf of the campaign organisation, Ambassador Jerry Ugokwe, alleged that the candidate of the APC, Senator Andy Uba is a victim of widespread electoral fraud and manipulation by INEC.

Meanwhile, a former spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh has appealed to Uba, to repeal any decision rejecting results of the election.

The PDP chieftain urged Uba not to set the stage for prolonged litigation over the outcome of the election.

The Punch reports that he made the appeal in a statement issued by his special assistant, Ebiloma Abdullahi, in Abuja on Friday, November 12.
