A Nigerian mum decided to check the phone of her 12-year-old son and was surprised by what she saw.

She stumbled upon his WhatsApp chat with a girl and decided to display it online for people to see.

In a video by @jjstaphorst on TikTok, the mother shared how she felt about her son's WhatsApp chat.

She said:

"In as much as I don't encourage this, but am so proud of him for knowing how much he can do."

"In my opinion, when the child gets to 13 years, the child is supposed to have his/her phone and not a browsing phone, to be able to reach their parents and school mates. So when the child gets to 16, a child can get an internet enabled phone.

This is because the child would see her friends having such phones and do not want to feel left out. Before then, a child can have a system at home that is Wi-fi enabled, to help with assignments and school work."
