Graduate emotional over first-class degree

Despite the difficulties he encountered throughout his academic years, he remained resolute and eventually finished his degree with an excellent result.

The graduate, who posted the update on X using the handle @UbohChukwuka, recounted a moment when he had considered abandoning his education.

He explained that his doubts had not stemmed from any perceived lack of ability but rather from circumstances that had appeared insurmountable at the time.

He later graduated with first-class honours in Mechanical Engineering from Delta State University during the institution’s 18th convocation ceremony.

He also conveyed appreciation to those who had stood by him throughout the process.

In his words:

"There was a time I almost gave up. Not because I wasn’t capable. But because the odds didn’t look negotiable. Today, I graduated with a First Class degree in Mechanical Engineering from Delta State University, at the 18th Convocation Ceremony. I’m deeply grateful to everyone."

Graduate recounts experience as he bags first class
