A Nigerian man's means of livelihood was given a severe blow after thieves stole his welding machines from his shop.

The heartbroken man expressed his pain online, sparking an outpouring of sympathy from concerned citizens.

The video, reposted on Instagram by @saintavenue_ent, showed the man distraught, lamenting the loss of his equipment.

He maintained that he was a victim of circumstance, questioning what he had done to deserve such treatment, and emphasising that he had not stolen from anyone.

He kept on wondering how he would recover, and his emotional state was so overwhelmingly as he struggled to come to terms with the loss of his equipment.

"Wetin I do people na? I did not steal anyone's property. Small welding machines I'm using to work now, you people have taken it," he lamented.

Commenting on the story, a Nigerian businessman, Ndukwu Emmanuel, warned thieves about the dangers ahead.

"This is the reason I don't feel pity for any thief that is caught and punished. They bring so much pain to people. Imagine ruining a grown man's source of livelihood. How wicked can a person be? They should be certain that karma will get to them" he lamented.

Many Nigerians sympathised with him and expressed outrage at the thieves' actions, questioning the morality of stealing from someone who was simply trying to earn a living.
