A Nigerian lawyer, Stella Justice, has answered whether side chicks could drag her man’s wife to court over insults.
She stated that it was possible and went on to provide a scenario that could occur between a man’s wife and his mistress.

On her Facebook page, the barrister noted that if a wife confronted her husband’s side chick with insults, she could sue the wife for defamation.
According to the lawyer, if your words dãmåge someone’s repütation, you can be sued.
She said in her Facebook post:
“CAN A SIDE CHICK DRAG THE WIFE TO COURT FOR INSÜLTING HER? Wife sees husband’s girlfriend and shouts in public; “Shãmêlêss side chick! Husband snåtchêr! Local prøstïtùte!”
“Crowd gathers, side chick feels disgråced. Now she says: “I’ll sue you for defamation.” Truth is, the law doesn’t ask if you are a wife, side chick, or mother-in-law. If your words dãmåge someone’s repütation, you can be sued.
“But let’s be real, what reputation is a side chick protecting? That’s why these cases make judges shake their heads in court.
“Dear wives, Your anger may be justified, but your words can still cost you. Speak wisely.”
She added in the comments:
“But let’s be honest, what reputation is she protecting? That’s the part that makes the case funny in court. Before you throw words in public, remember the law doesn’t care about your ångër, it only cares about the damãge your words cause.”
