In response, Alex Onyia stepped in to ensure the young boy's academic talent did not go to waste.
A plan is now in place to sponsor Paul's education, providing him with an opportunity to continue his studies despite his parents' decision.
Alex said:
"This boy Paul Ifechukwu Ejem from Ebonyi State scored 342 in JAMB and 8 distinctions in WAEC. His family decided not to fund his education anymore since last year because he dropped out of the seminary to pursue his dream. We can’t let such a brilliant talent waste. We will take up his education and sponsor him through ISEE."
Reactions trail brilliant boy's emotional story
Nigerians stormed the comments section to react to the post.
Farouq M said:
"A boy who has a lot to offer the world with his intellect is being frustrated by his African family that has been brainwashed by European indoctrinators. Africa, oh my Africa! Who will rescue Africa?"
Chimezie Chuta reacted:
"There’s no law that said that everyone who attended a Catholic Seminary must end up as a Priest. It a total misconception. His parents know better about the foundation they want for him. He could have stayed and finished there in obedience to his parents. He can pursue his dreams."
Skenner said:
"No one is asking whether the parents can sponsor the boy if he goes to secular University since the boy pays almost nothing if he studies in the seminary. To be sincere, amongst other things, fund to train him in secular University can also be part of the reasons. Thanks."

Gembajoe reacted:
"Hopefully one day, the catholic church will review their priestly position, and allow those who wish to keep family to do so. It's better to marry than to burn. The boy chose what he wants, and should be supported. Christianity is not a religion, it's a way of life."
Babaooo reacted:
"I feel it is VERY IMPORTANT to make effort in convincing the family to allow the boy pursue his dreams. If that family relationship remains polluted, the boy will still be affected in the longrun. Money may not be the challenge, the boy and his family both needs each other."
Miz Cazorla added:
"The Catholic doesn't want educated people in the seminary or what? Can't both go together? Study and continue with your seminary. Is that a crime? I see no fuss here except the parents have other valid reasons."
