She stated that wearing lip gloss as a Deeper Life child put her in a bad light, even when other girls had it on.

And this was one of the things she hated most about growing up in the church. In her words:

"You cannot hurt me. I literally grew as a Deeper Life child. I lived a double life throughout my university.
"Like I grew up in Deeper Life, of course, I wore trousers in school that I would not wear at home. I am a Deeper Life child, of course, people reported me to my parents every opportunity that they got.
"I am a Deeper Life child, of course, I waited till I was 30 till I finally pierced my ear.
"I am Deeper Life child, of course, even wearing lip gloss made me a bad child and that was one of the things I hated so much about growing up in that church.

The mum also disclosed that she used to leave her clothes with her friends and wear a skirt home to avoid her parents' wrath.

She had thought she was adopted due to her parents' strictness at the time, and wanted to run away from home.

"...I literally used to leave all my clothes with my friends, then I would go home with like my skirt. Growing up in Deeper Life, it is not easy.
"And I think one of the things that I did not like about it is because everybody just kind of gossiped about you. I feel like I am not bothered about what people say about me now, because what have people not said.
