RCCG: Muslim Man Defends Pastor Adeboye's N10 Billion Request from Church Members, Gives Reasons
- A Muslim faithful, Adejare Ibrahim, has backed Pastor Enoch Adeboye's request for N10 billion from his church members
- The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) general overseer had requested on day five of the church's August convention, stating that it was to cater to the increasing crowd in camp
- Ibrahim wondered why people criticised Pastor Adeboye's request, which was not a forced demand
A Muslim man, Adejare Ibrahim, has thrown his weight behind Pastor Enoch Adeboye's demand of N10 billion from his 'children'.
Pastor Adeboye, general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), had demanded N10 billion during his ministration on Day five of the church's August convention, citing needs necessitated by the increasing crowd at the Redemption Camp.

"But right now, I need at least 10 of my children who can give me N1 billion each. And then I need 100 of my children who can give me N100 million each. And I need 1000 of my children who can give me N10 million each. And then I need the rest of you who can give me anything you want from N1 million to 2 to 3 or even N1,000," Pastor Adeboye had said.
Muslim man defends Pastor Adeboye
In a Facebook post on Sunday, August 10, Ibrahim said he could not understand why people criticised Pastor Adeboye for calling for the N10 billion donations.
While he erroneously said the video of Pastor Adeboye asking for the donation was old, he wondered whether it was not a virtuous act to donate to the cause of God, adding that the preacher did not force anyone.
Ibrahim stated that he would donate the same amount or more if his mosque had such a need and he had the financial means.
He shaded those who criticised Pastor Adeboye by praying not to be on social media, dishing out criticisms while his mates are spending millions and billions. His Facebook post read:
"WHAT'S THE FUSS ABOUT?
"Sincerely, I cannot understand why some people are riled and criticising Pastor Adeboye for calling for donations to his church. Moreover, this is an old video.
"What is the fuss all about? Isn't it a virtuous act to donate in the cause of God? Did he force anyone to donate; or why is it paining you?
"Mind you, as a Muslim, I can donate the same amount or more to our mosque if I have the means. It is my money, not yours.
"I pray for halal money, that I will be spending on Islam. The money I will have, which I won't be able to spend in the cause of humanity, I don't want it.
"I pray, when they are calling for donations of 10 billion, I should be among those who will drop the cheque for it.
"Dear God, where my mates are spending millions and billions in your way, may I not be spending criticisms and bad belle on social media."

"Adejare Ibrahim Adeboye is the cause of this criticism. Muslims ask for donations everyday for various purposes, have you ever heard anybody criticizing them? Catholics, Anglican, Methodists etc ask for donations for various reasons daily, why are we not criticizing them?
"The day the above listed religious organizations start telling people to give them money so they can become rich, then we will start criticizing them too.
"Baba Adeboye and other Pentecostal Pastors attracted criticisms to themselves because of exploitative doctrine they preached."
Adefolayan Adekanye said:
"From today's on, I love you with the whole of my heart for this piece.
"I say Amen to your prayers and so be for me too."

Theologian urges churches to empower members economically
A theologian, Dr Benard Andrew, has called on church leaders to balance infrastructure projects with initiatives that improve the welfare of their congregations.
In his opinion shared with Legit.ng, he said:
“It is important to mention here that I am not against church building; if the people are physically uncomfortable, they are likely to be distracted during worship. However, church leaders should also spend more on the suffering of their people and on training them to be self-sufficient economically, while setting up industries where members can work and earn a living.”

Pastor Adeboye predicts his death
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the general overseer of RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, had spoken about how and when he would die.
The revered cleric shared this vision while ministering at the Old Auditorium during the evening session of Day 4 of the church’s 73rd Annual Convention.
The cleric noted that death does not always come after a period of sickness, as he led the congregation in prayers on divine healing.
