In a post, Reverend Father Gabriel Dozie Okeke said he was proud to associate himself with the girl, Nestor-Ekezie Onyinye.
He said:
"The WAEC result of one of my nieces. Do you like it? When you look at it, the first feeling is endearment, that is you love it. And you wish it belonged to, maybe, your sibling or your child or you.
"When the mum sent it to me and said “Father Dodoo, see the result of my daughter”, as I saw it I replied her “not your daughter, but my daughter”. She laughed and concurred. Ordinarily we all want to identify with excellence."
A copy of the result shared by the priest shows that she passed all nine subjects.
She scored straight A's in eight subjects, while she got a C4 in English language. The priest said the students wrote English language with torchlight.
His words:
"They wrote English with torchlight, plus other difficulties. Besides, I’m glad it was English she got C4 and not Igbo. Is it our language?"
