Plateau Killings: Islamic Group Releases Number of Members Who Died
- Plateau killings have continued to reveal more victims as the JNI, an Islamic group in the state, disclosed the death of four of its members in the attack
- Salim Musa Umar, the secretary to the group, revealed the casualties, adding that ten others are still missing after engaging families in the Islamic group
- As of Monday, March 30, the police confirmed that 27 people were confirmed in the attack in the Anguwan Rukuba community of Jos North LGA of the state
Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) in Plateau state has disclosed that four of its members were killed and ten others were yet to be accounted for after the Sunday, March 29, attack in the Anguwan Rukuba community of Jos North Local Government Area of the state.
According to the police on Monday, March 30, 27 persons were confirmed dead, while many others sustained injuries during the attack.

Daily Trust reported that eyewitnesses reported that the attackers attacked the community on motorcycles at about 7:30 pm. They fired bullets indiscriminately and caused panic among residents in the community.
However, the Islamic group, in a statement on Tuesday, March 31, by its secretary, Salim Musa Umar, said that after a series of reports by parents within the Muslim community, it had discovered that some of the Muslims are also victims of the attack.
Reactions as JNI confirms four members' deaths
The revelation of the Muslim victims has started generating mixed reactions from Nigerians. Below are some of their comments:
Hassan Kila called for unity in fighting the insecurity in the country:
"It is imperative that we unite, regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or other differences, to engage in prayer, fasting, and seeking forgiveness and peace. It is essential to appeal to the divine for the resolution of all crises and insurgencies. Our collective efforts will contribute to the betterment of Nigeria, as it is our only homeland, and there is no other country like it."

Yakubu Isa called for peace among the people of Plateau State:
"Please, my fellow plateau citizens, irrespective of affiliations, let there be peace, please. Let there be good neighbourhoods and peaceful coexistence, tolerance and understanding among the Plateau citizens."

Maduforo Chimamkpa Okwute called on the security agencies to bring the perpetrators to justice:
"Security agencies must act swiftly to investigate the attack, locate the missing, and bring the perpetrators to justice. The protection of lives and communities is non-negotiable."
Comr Abdul Maaji mourned the casualties:
"My heart goes out to the families of the victims and those affected by this senseless attack. May the perpetrators be brought to justice and the missing be found safe and sound."
Bitrus Mangey explained why the killing should not be given religious colouration:
"Anguwan Rukuba is a place where Muslims and Christians meet at the junction to do every sort of business, keke riders, achabas, Mairuwa, mai lemo, gwanjo, nama, etc., and transact from morning till night. The incident that just happened must cut across every sector. No one should be happy. This is very bad and sorrowful; may God have mercy on us all."

Pastor Jerry reacts to Jos' attack
Legit.ng previously reported that Pastor Jerry Eze came under scrutiny following his reaction to the killings in Jos, Plateau state, as Nigerians continued to mourn victims of the tragic attack.
His message reflected a spiritual response, calling for divine intervention amid violence. However, what followed showed that not everyone was in agreement.
Shortly after his post, several Nigerians began questioning whether prayers alone were sufficient in addressing the recurring violence.
