The development introduces another recognised German-language examination option for Nigerian candidates, alongside the Goethe examination system, which has traditionally been widely used by German learners in the country.

The ÖSD examination system assesses German as a foreign or second language across levels A1 to C2 under the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The examination is conducted internationally in numerous countries, including Ghana, Togo, Cameroon and Benin Republic.
The establishment of the examination pathway in Nigeria was highlighted during a visit by Mohamed Seddiki, official contact person and coordinating representative for international ÖSD examination centres and founder of the International Institute for Studies and Cooperation (IISC).
During the visit to Easyway’s Lagos office, Seddiki met with Akande Marvellous, Chief Operating Officer of Easyway German Language School, as the school’s facilities were inspected ahead of the examination.
Easyway said it is the first German language school in Nigeria licensed to operate an ÖSD examination centre and conduct the examination locally.
The school’s offering extends beyond language classes, with services including ÖSD examination preparation, mock examinations, speaking practice, registration guidance, document translation and verification, as well as guidance relating to study, Ausbildung and employment opportunities.
According to the school, candidates who register for the ÖSD examination through Easyway receive free examination preparation covering the examination format, reading, listening, writing and speaking exercises, vocabulary and grammar revision, timed tasks and exam-day orientation.
The school also encourages candidates to use official ÖSD practice materials and model questions ahead of the examination.
For the October 2026 examination cycle, the fees provided by Easyway are ₦160,000 for A1, ₦190,000 for A2, ₦200,000 for B1, ₦210,000 for B2 and ₦300,000 for C1. Candidates are advised to confirm current fees and C2 availability directly with the examination centre.
The October registration window is scheduled for September 21 to October 6, 2026, while examinations are expected to hold on October 29 and 30. Future examination cycles are expected to take place at approximately two-month intervals, subject to confirmed dates and availability.
Easyway also states that regular results may be available within two to four weeks, while an express option can reduce processing time to approximately one week, subject to applicable conditions and fees.
The school operates from 23 Unity Road, off Toyin Street, Ikeja, Lagos, with additional centres listed in Abuja and Port Harcourt. It also provides online learning and support for candidates outside those locations.
The introduction of ÖSD in Nigeria gives German-language candidates another route for obtaining internationally recognised German-language certification, particularly those preparing for education, vocational training and employment-related opportunities where proof of German proficiency is required.
Candidates seeking further information about examination dates, registration requirements, fees and preparation programmes can contact Easyway German Language School through its official channels.
