FCT, Abuja - The presidency has outlined key activities President Bola Tinubu would engage in prior to October 1, Independence Day celebration.

Precisely, the President has been in Lagos on a working visit prior to Nigeria's 65th Independence Anniversary, with the Presidency listing three significant activities the President will undertake before the celebrations on October 1.
Tinubu flew to Lagos on Friday, September 26, after attending the coronation of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, Olubadan of Ibadanland, in the Oyo State. The ceremony had been attended by visitors from all over the country.

Lagos would be the headquarters of the President since Nigeria would celebrate what has been termed a "low-key" Independence anniversary, the Presidency through X stated.
Tinubu to meet with private sector leaders
During his visit to Lagos, he will meet with senior government leaders and leading figures in the private sector.
Presidency sources indicated the meetings would revolve around building the economy and creating a more investor-friendly environment.
Special President Adviser to Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, stated:
"The President will take advantage of this platform to talk directly to government and business stakeholders. The talks are at the heart of his economic renewal program."
Tinubu to sit with captains of private sector
In his visit to Lagos, he will sit with top government officials and top captains of the private sector.
Presidency sources have confirmed that the talks will revolve around economic development and making the business environment more investor-friendly.

The President will use this platform to address directly government and business stakeholders. The negotiations are the highlight of his economic renewal agenda.

As part of activities for Independence Day, President Tinubu will further commission the renovated National Theatre in Lagos, now renamed the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts.
Bayo Onanuga has confirmed the switch, describing it as "a tribute to Nigeria's cultural heritage and to one of Africa's most venerated literary figures.".
The 65th Independence celebrations will be small in scale but historic in nature inasmuch as they reflect Tinubu's commitment to making nation-building and unity priorities on the agenda of his government.
Tinubu welcomes Kwankwanso, 2 other gov
Legit.ng earlier reported that President Bola Tinubu, on Friday, September 26, received in audience ex-Kano governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso.
A video posted on X (ex-Twitter) by President Tinubu's social media special assistant, Dada Olusegun, was seen of the Nigerian president greeting Kwankwaso with former governor of Osun state Olagunsoye Oyinlola and former governor of Ogun state Ibikunle Amosun.
Kwankwaso contested the 2023 presidential poll against Tinubu and lost. The Kano indigenous politician polled a paltry 6.23% of votes on the platform of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
