The discovery has reignited public concern over ritual-related crimes involving human parts despite repeated crackdowns by security agencies.

Police described the development as a “critical discovery” and said the outcome of the forensic analysis will guide further legal action.

Cases of suspected ritual activity continue to surface across parts of Nigeria. In October 2024, Lagos police arrested three suspects during a similar stop-and-search operation on Otedola Bridge, where human tongues were allegedly recovered.
