Kaduna state - Kaduna state governor, Senator Uba Sani, has assured residents that his administration will not resort to borrowing to fund developmental projects.

While speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of a 16.5-kilometre asphalt road that will connect Kayarda Tasha, Kayarda Gari, Unguwan Sarki, Maskawa, and Dan Alhaji towns in Lere local government area, the Governor stated that all the projects currently in progress, as well as those that have been abandoned, will be completed by the time his tenure comes to a close.

He disclosed that the new road project was going to be undertaken by a reliable company, Vanguard reported.

"This type of project is the first in Lere local government," he stated.

Kaduna governor outlines completed, ongoing projects

The Kaduna governor also outlined some of the inherited projects which his administration had already addressed.

Environment commissioner, Alhaji Abubakar Buba, praised Governor Sani for his willingness to deliver on promises.

He referred to him as "a man of his word and one who is a promise keeper."

Buba also greeted the elevation of some Lere natives to high offices, Daily Trust reported

"We also have our diligent Member of the House of Representatives, Hon Ahmed Munir. God has given us a very active Council Chairman, Hon Jafaaru. I am a Commissioner of Environment," he added.

He also praised the Governor for his inclusiveness in governance.

"That is why we have an open-door policy and offer succour to our people," he clarified.

House Majority Leader, Hon. Munira Suleiman Tanimu, recalled that road construction was one of the promises given to the Lere people during campaigns.

She confirmed with hope that the ruling APC would continue its recent electoral successes in 2027.

Also, Hon. Ahmed Munir, member of Lere Federal Constituency, remembered the governor's humble beginnings in Saminaka, local government headquarters.

He remembered the Governor was a former football striker who always scored at the back of the net for the Saminaka Celtics.

"Governor Uba Sani will remain a striker in the political arena," he said.

El-Rufai speaks on feud with Uba Sani

Previously, Legit.ng reported that the former Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, on Sunday, August 31, revealed that his successor, Senator Uba Sani, was not his friend.

El-Rufai, who was instrumental to Sani’s emergence as Kaduna state governor in 2023, however, dispelled rumours of a rift between him and his successor, the current governor of the state.

Recall there were reports that the duo were at loggerheads following El-Rufai’s criticisms of the federal government’s policies and the Kaduna state government.
