The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has congratulated Nigerian celebrity chef, Hilda Baci, for setting a new world record by cooking the world’s largest pot of jollof rice.

This impressive feat was accomplished in collaboration with Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.

Guinness World Records (GWR) officially confirmed her award and new record on Monday, September 15 via a post shared on their X page.

In a video by @hildabaci on TikTok, the chef showed when she was on a call with the organisers of the GWR.

She captioned the video:

"We made history together; for Nigeria, for Africa, and for everyone who believes in the power of food to bring us closer. This win is yours too."

Peter Obi hails Hilda Baci on new GWR

Reacting to the development, Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra state, commended Hilda Baci on what he described as an "extraordinary new feat."

Obi tweeted:

"Let me again congratulate Hilda Baci on her extraordinary Guinness World Record for preparing the Largest Serving of Nigerian-style Jollof Rice, reaching 8,780 kilograms."

Speaking further, Peter Obi maintained that the new feat is a symbol of what the people can achieve when hard work, passion and opportunity are united.

Additionally, Obi revealed that Hilda Baci's new GWR record, reflects the limitless potential that resides in Nigerian youths.

Man speaks about Hilda Baci's 'biggest' jollof rice

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that an eyewitness who went to the area where Hilda Baci cooked her 'biggest' pot of jollof rice shared his observation online.

In a video, he gave an interesting remark disclosing what he noticed at around 4am at the venue of the event.
