“Beyond being an alumnus of the school, I was also a former teacher here, where I taught Mathematics and Physics. So, during my visit after the coronation, I will engage the students in classwork,” he said.

The Olubadan succession system is widely known for its merit-based structure, which follows two chieftaincy lines, Otun and Balogun.

Every eligible high chief has a chance to rise to the throne, provided they live long enough to attain the position.

Ladoja’s emergence as Olubadan-designate followed the death of the 43rd Olubadan, Oba Lekan Balogun, in March 2024.

At the time of Balogun’s passing, Ladoja held the title of Osi Olubadan, making him next in line on the Otun line. His ascension was formalised after traditional rites and government approval.
